Creatives of the Future 

CREW’s Creatives of the Future Masterclass Series is a targeted programme designed to strengthen Galway’s position as a leading hub for innovation in the creative industries. Through three high-impact events focused on co-operative business models, the integration of AI into design thinking, and circular economy principles, the series will build critical capabilities across the region’s digital creative sectors. By combining expert-led workshops, mentorship, and cross-sector collaboration, the initiative will empower creative entrepreneurs to develop sustainable, future-focused business practices—delivering lasting economic and cultural value for Galway.

Creatives of the Future is funded by Galway City Council as part of  LECP: An Innovative City. This masterclass series runs from July – Dec 2025 

Masterclass 1

Co-Create: Co-operative Business Models for the Games Sector
This masterclass introduces participants to the innovative potential of co-operative business models—a growing global trend in the games industry. These models promote collective ownership, democratic decision-making, and more resilient, community-rooted businesses. As creative professionals increasingly face precarity and fragmented project-based work, this session provides a timely and practical alternative.

Masterclass 2

Bridging AI & Design Thinking: Innovation at the Intersection 
This workshop explores how generative AI can be embedded into design thinking frameworks to enhance innovation in creative problem-solving. Participants will gain hands-on experience with AI tools and methodologies that streamline processes, amplify creativity, and address complex challenges. With AI transforming the future of creative industries, this session will help Galway’s entrepreneurs remain competitive and agile.

Masterclass 3

Circular Creatives: Embedding Circular Economy & Regenerative Design 
Focusing on sustainability, this masterclass introduces circular economy principles and regenerative design approaches tailored to the creative industries. Participants will learn how to reduce waste, reuse resources, and develop environmentally responsible practices—an essential evolution for digital and media businesses facing increasing sustainability demands.
